A Visit to Cyril: A Unique Experience in Bern

A visit to Cyril is like a journey into a world filled with motivation, drive, and an incredibly deep ecological conviction. Everything here is brimming with joy and good music. Sitting still is impossible—you’ll want to climb the trees and lend Cyril a hand with his work.

Cyril moves through the treetops with the agility and grace of a monkey, tending to the trees in and around Bern. His passion and conviction in ecological, economic, and parking-related matters are contagious. Anyone watching him is immediately inspired by his enthusiasm.
Striking is Cyril’s consistent use of CARLA, our cargo bike trailer that stands out on the streets of Bern. And for a good reason:

with CARLA, Cyril can easily transport his chainsaw, shredder, and all his climbing gear. His workload is substantial, and he is always busy with numerous assignments.

An impressive sight is when he uses CARLA to transport young trees up to six meters tall for planting at clients' locations. Cyril showed us that environmental protection and efficient work can go hand in hand.

So, if you’re in Bern and see an agile tree climber with a CARLA and a broad smile on his face making his way through the streets, you’ll know: that’s Cyril, the passionate advocate who puts his heart and soul into his work.

The Setup

Cyril uses a Trio cargo bike plus an eCARLA as his towing vehicle. Thanks to the starting aid, he always gets off to a good start, even with heavy loads (tree trunks, etc.). He says to himself that the CARLA is the vehicle in the team that “humps” in terms of payload, and that he occasionally reaches the official payload limits. Cyril has also built himself a loading ramp, which allows him to roll the forage harvester up and down comfortably. Overall, the setup seems very well-thought-out, and you can tell that Cyril is on the road with it every day and works with it a lot.
